Torque and gas mileage make a great combination in the new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel

The Longhorn comes with a 26 gallon tank and with the Ram doing the math with a full tank of gas the truck had a range of over 650 miles, “incredible” was the first word that came to our minds, that is a very long way to empty, in fact over the week of working with the truck, hauling, loading, idling and pulling trailers there was still over ¼ tank of fuel left and over 100 miles to go to empty. Quite a feat for a regular pickup truck being used to do all the work that Craig would have done with a Silverado- that would definitely needed a fill up before the week was over.

All this about great gas mileage brings us back to the question of “would this be a truck that could be used to not only run around town, take trips and also be used as a light duty work truck and still get good mileage”? After a week of what Craig of work that would be more than most folks looking for a 1500 would do the answer would be “yes” and even after towing over 150 miles with the Ram, our end of week average was still 20.5 mpg, again… “Incredible”!
