2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is Safer in a Crash With 4WD

If you’re thinking about buying a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it’s better to get four-wheel drive because that version of the car is safer in a crash.

In the latest round of testing from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee equipped with two-wheel drive earned a four-star overall safety rating while the four-wheel drive model received a five-star overall safety rating. The two-wheel drive model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and three stars in the rollover crash test while the four-wheel drive model netted four stars in the rollover crash test.

NHTSA has not yet rated the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not yet tested the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Standard safety features on the Grand Cherokee include six airbags, antilock brakes, traction control and brake assist. Available options include rear cross-path detection and blind-spot monitoring.
