2013 Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Special Editions Bow

NEW YORK — The 2013 Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limited Edition and Luxury Edition, designed to capture the spirit of the Motor City, was introduced earlier this year.

Varvatos is a menswear designer from Detroit and a celebrity mentor on NBC’s Fashion Star.

The two special-edition Chrysler 300Cs sport dark colors, metal accents and masculine details. The Limited version will hit showrooms in the first quarter of 2013, with the Luxury one coming later this year. Pricing will be announced prior to their showroom debut, Chrysler spokeswoman Dianna Gutierrez told Edmunds in an e-mail.

The designer customized a 2012 Chrysler 300S for a charity auction earlier this year.

The partnership suggests Chrysler wants to extend the successful “Imported from Detroit” campaign beyond commercials to reflect a design that embodies the culture and can-do spirit of Detroit captured in the original Super Bowl commercial featuring music by rapper Eminem.

The Limited Edition version exudes toughness with its black exterior punctuated with metallic finishes inside and out. Inspired by a John Varvatos cologne bottle, the Limited Edition 300C sports a Titanium-finished grille surround, Titanium Chrome Chrysler “wing” badge and black Chrome grille blades, which mimic the foundries that once made the Motor City flourish.

Other touches include 20-inch cast-aluminum wheels and mirror caps finished in Titanium. At the rear, LED taillamps with blackened detail give a more masculine look, as do the dual exhaust tips in titanium.

Inside, passengers will notice the Varvatos logos on “Pewter Metallic” leather seats and gray and black pattern Varvatos stitching. The award-winning designer’s watch collection influences the gauges and clock as well, with a dashboard studded with pearlescent white face and black metallic bezels.

The 2013 Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Luxury Edition features ultra-premium leather and hand-sanded wood.

Drivers have an interior choice of monotone black or an exclusive Dark Mocha with black Poltrona Frau “Foligno” leather. The seats are wrapped exclusively in napa leather and both driver and front passenger seats are 12-way power-adjustable with two-mode ventilation and heat. The leather-wrapped steering wheel includes die-cast paddle shifters and a chrome accent ring to highlight the segment-exclusive 360-degree heated rim.

Outside, 20-inch aluminum wheels and a new platinum-chrome mesh grille and a Varvatos deck-lid badge complete the look.

“Inspiration can come from anywhere. It doesn’t have to grow under office lights,” said Saad Chehab, president and CEO of the Chrysler brand in a statement. “Our new Chrysler 300C John Varvatos sedans are more than a design partnership. They symbolize the soul of two great brands, respecting their Detroit roots, and who share a passion to deliver high-quality design that’s tough, yet tailored.”
